Deal!

So last Friday, Jim finally (FINALLY) went to the foot doctor.  This is big news - the heel pain has been going on for years and it is painful to watch him not be able to run around the perimeter of the soccer field with the team and the other coach, because his heel is killing him that bad.  Jim is also stubborn - and even though it pains me to see him suffer, he will only do something when he is ready, so we waited.  Yesterday was the big day - and yes, he got a cortisone shot.  Poor boy.

We were a bit bored in the doctor's office and without anything to entertain us, I decided to take some pics of the sillyness.

(Mind you, we were seated next to a notable attorney who was trying to pretend not to be so distinguished by wearing jeans and a regular shirt).  More of the silly...

So, while we were at Dr. Shapiro's office, we bought new Rainbow flip flops - because we scored them for $25.00 (orig. $49.99.)

This was deal numbero uno of the day. (You like that Spanish thrown in there, don't ya?)

Jim's heel was feeling tremendous - and I think that boy of mine was on a pain-free heel high, so he suggests we go to Toys 'R Us and let the boys spend their gift cards.  "Whoop Whoop" from the two hyenas in the back seat...

And off we went!  A Toys 'R Us gift card often becomes a double-edged sword.  Sure, it is grand that you aren't shelling out the bucks, but adults can take only so much of aimless wandering around this store before shouting out a "ten more minutes, that's it - pick something out so we can go" warning.  This results in pressure and chaos and always ends in a meltdown of what to buy and quick!  Miles' swears that he didn't get "nuffing" - when is actuality, he returned home with a WWE Wrestling Ring - the part that was needed to go with the WWE Wrestling Cage that he bought last weekend with his earned money.  Now the Cage will actually work correctly.  Miles also scored a new Razor Scooter because his mama (that would be me) ran over his a month or so ago because it was so low to the ground and in the dark garage as I was pulling in after work one day.  Now mind you, the boy returned home with "nuffing" (to properly pronounce Miles' version of nothing, you must put a heavy accent on the ending 'g' and add an 'a' - so it sounds like "nuffinga."  I want you to have the full picture.

Owen, my reasonable child, was jack-slap happy in getting yet another WWE figure and was trying to convince the much-melted-down hyena that he was getting an awesome wrestling ring AND a scooter and to knock it off.

After Toys 'R Us, we headed to Panera Bread to get the yummy Smokehouse Turkey Panini with a Raspberry Tea.

Yum.  (And a bag of Praline Crunch Bagels, but who's counting carbs, here right? That starts on Monday ... again.)

Then we went to Home Goods to return the lovely white and flowery chair pads that refused to match my kitchen curtains.  What we found there was fabulous!  A new camera bag for just $20!  Which will perfectly match my (hopefully) Mother's Day camera strap... (drum roll please....)

There were some other awesome deals, but those are gifts for others and we don't want to spell that out right here on ze blog, now do we?

After that, we headed over to Gigi's Cupcakes!  http://www.gigiscupcakesusa.com/savannahgeorgia

Where we nearly bathed ourselves in sugar and goodness and then felt very icky on the way home.  My friend Jaime says "Was it worth it?" and that indeed was a very good question.  After building myself up for weeks to go to this trendy little spot, I wanted it to be everything I had imagined.  Was it?  Not so much.  Hmmm....

Here is (was) my Merry Margarita cupcake...

and here are all of her little friends left sad and lonely in the case...

Here is Happy Boy #1...

and my completely delirious child, Miles... God bless him!

So that was our Friday.  Sounds pretty darn good, huh?  Amen!
